WHAT WE DO

SHABBAT SERVICES AND PROGRAMMING

Ometz holds weekly Friday evening services upstaris at Hillel. We have an egalitarian prayer space meaning all are welcome to lead both Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma'ariv. Ometz also provides a varity of different Shabbat programs, including Onegs and Saturday shmoozing and board games.

COMMUNITY DINNERS AND OMETZ EXTRAVAGANZA

Ometz has a Shabbat meal initiative that allows people hosting meals to open up their meals to members of the community. If you are hosting a meal or are interested in attending one, sign up here. If you are interested in hosting a meal, Hillel has a Shabbat meal fund to help provide food for your meal.

In addition, we host Ometz Shabbat Extravaganza Dinner each semester. Near 100 students are placed in various meals in apartments around campus, culminating in a community oneg.

SOCIAL

From baking events to schmoozing, Ometz truly is a community. We have many opportunities throughout the semester to bond and get to know other members. What kind of event do you want to see? Let us know!

EDUCATION

Ometz holds several education-based events and dicussions throughout the semester. Our text-based discussions feature different speakers and topics. Past speakers include Rabbi David Kalender, Rabbi Jonah Layman, Rabbi Adam Raskin and Akiva Gersh. We also host panel discussions on topics such as anti-semitism in the Western World.
